Greetings!
Good Morning and greetings on this beautiful day the Lord has made! It was my privilege and great joy to return to Vietnam again the last 2 weeks of June. It was one of the busiest trips yet. I had the opportunity to preach in two Vietnamese churches, visit the international church in Saigon and have two 3-day conferences for pastors and their wives. The theme of these conferences was “The Holy Spirit in Your Marriage and Your Ministry”. My objective was to give basic and balanced teaching on the Holy Spirit and help them see that before they can have maximum effectiveness in their churches they must be spiritual leaders to their families and live exemplary lives at home with their wives and children.
The first conference was held in Dalat City in the central highlands and there were 50 pastors who attended and in the second conference, further north near Hanoi, there were 45 couples. It is such a blessing to give these men and women the opportunity for teaching, fellowship, food and fun. Many of them come from remote areas where there is poverty and persecution which make these conferences a spiritual oasis. What is amazing to me is that despite the adverse conditions in these tribal areas, many are coming to Christ and churches are being planted as God continues to call these young men and women to the ministry. It is so rewarding that I have the opportunity to bring these fellow laborers who are so eager to learn, practical principles of ministry and spiritual leadership. God is laying a strong foundation through the lives of these pastors that is bringing a harvest in preparation for great revival.
I want to thank you for your prayers and compassionate generosity in supporting this missions trip to Vietnam. I cannot express how much it means to me personally as well as all these dedicated Vietnamese pastors who were able to come as a result of your giving. God is continuing to fulfill the word he gave to me back in 1989 when he very clearly spoke to me through the words of Isaiah 49:6, “I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.” NIV.
his area is so in need of the Lord and this Community Center is going to be a great tool to reach out to people by provided food
, clothing, medical assistance and educational and recreational needs of the children.
This picture was taken at beautiful Halong Bay near Hanoi during one of my first visits to Vietnam. Like many touristy spots it is very scenic and serene. But in the crowded cites and remote villages there are people impoverished physically and spiritually and its far from scenic or serene. But in the midst of all the chaos God has raised up a church that is turning the ashes into beauty.
Drafted to Vietnam again! In June I will be deployed to Vietnam for my 8th tour of duty in the Lord’s Army. This time I will be having 2 pastors conferences on the Holy Spirit in Your Ministry and Marriage.. One will be near Hanoi in the north with Hmong pastors and the other will be in the Central Highlands with tribal pastors.
On the very first Christmas when Jesus was born light played a major role. The angels put on a spectacular light show for the shepherds and it was the light of the star that led the wise men to the Christ child. All of this was to announce the birth of Jesus, the Light of the world, who came to illuminate the darkness of humanity. Twenty centuries have come and gone but there are still hundreds of millions of people who live in darkness and need to have his light shine into their lives.
